The Spring Standards On Mountain Stage
Set List
- "Goodbye Midnight"
- "The Hush"
- "Trouble"
- "Little Bug"
The members of The Spring Standards started making music together in their teens, playing their first shows in the Delaware/Pennsylvania area while still in high school. The musicians went their separate ways after graduating, but all reconvened in New York City several years later to pick up where they left off. Their affinity for three-part harmony still intact, The Spring Standards' members recorded their debut EP, No One Will Know, with producer Rhett Miller of the Old 97's.
Members James Cleare, Heather Robb and James Smith swap instruments throughout this set, with Cleare and Smith sharing bass and guitar, Robb playing keyboard and glockenspiel, and the hi-hat, floor tom and bass drum spread among all three members. The ringing glockenspiel adorns "Goodbye Midnight," and the band quotes The Who's "My Generation" during "Little Bug."
This feature originally ran May 21, 2009.
