Investigating Starr

NPR's Barbara Bradley reports that a Senate committee begins hearings today on whether to renew the Independent Counsel statute, which expires in four months. The statute has few supporters, and even they admit it needs to be revised. Meanwhile, a panel of judges is considering whether the Justice Department has the legal authority to investigate Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr's conduct.
