Five Percenters Part One

NPR's Eric Westervelt reports on a group called The Nation of Gods and Earths also known as The Five Percenters. They don't consider themselves a religion, rather a 'culture'. Those who follow the group's beliefs in prison however, are treated like members of a gang and are consequently isolated and subject to higher levels of security than other inmates. Westervelt examines why New Jersey and South Carolina prisons have decided to regard The Five Percenters as a gang and whether that assessment is appropriate.
