Gas Additive

From member station KXJX in Sacramento, Suzanne Marmion (MAHR-mee-un) reports that California governor Gray Davis yesterday banned the fuel additive MTBE, calling the controversial compound a "significant risk to California's environment" that must be eliminated by 2002. The action will push up gas prices in the state which is the U.S.'s greatest user of gasoline.
