Louima Trial

NPR's Melissa Block reports that jury selection begins today in the trial of four white police officers charged with brutalizing Haitian immigrant Abner Louima in New York City in 1997. It coincides with another explosive case in New York — the shooting of Amadou Diallo (AH-ma-doo dee-AH-loh), an unarmed West African immigrant, by four white police officers last month.
