NPR's Susan Stamberg previews tonight's performance of 'The Ziegfeld Follies of 1936,' which will be staged as part of the City Center's "Encore" series in New York. It's a concert version of the Broadway classic, featuring singing and dancing by top musical performers, but no costumes or sets. One song from the original show, 'I Can't Get Started,' composed by Vernon Duke, became an all-time favorite.
