Chiquita Case

NPR's Brooke Gladstone reports on the case of former Chiquita Brands lawyer George Ventura, who is accused of providing the codes to the company's voice mail system to former Cincinnati Enquirer reporter Michael Gallagher. Gallagher used confidential voice mail for a series of newspaper articles that were highly critical of Chiquita's business practices. The Enquirer retracted the articles shortly after they were published last May, fired Gallagher and paid Chiquita millions in damages. Ventura will try to have the charges against him dismissed in a hearing today.
