Al Hirt Dies

Virtuoso jazz trumpeter Al Hirt died in New Orleans Tuesday at the age of 76 after along illness. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Hirt recorded more than 50 albums, was nominated for Grammy 21 times and in 1964 won a Grammy for best non - jazz instrumental for the hit piece "Java."
