Songs and Stories from Moby Dick
Performance Artist Laurie Anderson is on tour with her latest work, "Songs and Stories from Moby Dick." The act combines text from Herman Melville's classic novel, scientific documents, the Bible, and Anderson's own writings. It premiered earlier this month at the Prince Music Theater (formerly the American Music Theater Festival) in Philadelphia. It opens next week at the Spoleto Festival U.S.A. in Charleston, South Carolina, and surfaces again in the fall in New York City. In Anderson's words, it asks the fundamental question, "What's the point?"
