Debt Relief

NPR's John Ydstie reports on one of the accomplishments emerging from the summit meeting of the G7 nations and Russia in Cologne. Leaders of the group have approved a plan that will increase the amount of money available for debt relief for 33 of the world's poorest countries. Part of the impetus for the measure has been provided by a grass roots campaign called Jubilee 2000, a coalition of religious groups, anti-poverty organizations, and others.
