NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports that with Serb forces now gone, residents can try to reconstruct what happened in the southern Kosovo city of Djakovica during NATO's 11-week bombing campaign. Members of the city's small Serb minority reportedly joined Yugoslav troops, police and paramilitaries in rampaging through the city, rounding up and killing many hundreds of residents, and destroying property on a vast scale. Those few Serbs who remain in Djakovica, now in Albanian hands, profess ignorance of what happened and show reluctance to accept any responsibility for the atrocities.
