NPR's Brian Naylor reports on today's House vote calling for a constitutional amendment that would ban desecration of the American flag. The vote, which was 305 to 124, was far more than the two-thirds required. But it now goes to the Senate, where the measure has died in the past. Both sides say that the amendment is still two or three votes shy of getting the 67 Senate votes needed to move the measure on to the states for final approval.
