Gay Rights Day

NPR's Tovia Smith reports on celebrations held yesterday commemorating Gay Rights Day. In San Francisco, and New York, thousands turned up to also celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. 30 years ago, gays and lesbians at the Stonewall Inn, a Greenwich Village bar, fought off a police raid. The event is considered a significant step in the history of gay rights.
