Presidential Campaign Season Opens In Afghanistan

Campaigning begins this week for Afghanistan's presidential election, only the second presidential election in the country's history. On the slate are 41 candidates challenging incumbent President Hamid Karzai. That's actually far fewer than was expected, and only a couple of them represent a threat to Afghanistan's president.
