Presidential News Conference

NPR's Mara Liasson reports that President Clinton has sharpened his criticism of the Republican bill in the House of Representatives that would reduce taxes by nearly 800 billion dollars over a ten-year period. In a wide-ranging news conference yesterday, the President said he would veto the Republican bill, because it would put the nation's fiscal health at risk and would not adequately protect Social Security and Medicare.
