Summer Movies

NPR's Pat Dowell reports that scary movies are making a comeback at the theaters this summer. "The Blair Witch Project" is a low-budget independent film with no special effects or big stars, but it's raking in money at the few theaters which are showing it. There's also a remake of "The Haunting," a 75-million dollar film that has plenty of special effects. It opens today. Both films prey on the innate fears we have about things that go bump in the night.
