China - Falun Gong

From Beijing, Mary Kay Magistad reports one day after the Chinese government banned the quasi-religious sect, Falun Gong, the leader of the movement appealed to Beijing to reconsider. Falun Gong's leader, Li Hong Zhi, says his movement aims only to promote health and inner peace. But the Chinese government claims he is leading an evil movement with a sinister agenda to infiltrate and topple the Communist Party. Today, authorities in Beijing continued to denounce the movement and round up many of its followers.
