NPR's John Ydstie reports that the Federal Reserve raised two key interest rates by a quarter point today in a move designed to put the kibosh on early signs of inflation. Though it was the second straight month the Fed increased its benchmark Federal funds rate, investors reacted positively, pushing up stock prices. They're hopeful that the Fed is finished raising rates for the year, and the economic boom will continue.
