Every dog has its day — in the office. It's the 10th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day. The event was created to encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters.

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne. Every dog has its day in the office. It's the 10th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day…

(Soundbite of barking)

MONTAGNE: …an event crated by top dog companies, partly to encourage people to adopt dogs from shelters. Among the companies saying, here, boy, are Procter & Gamble and Replacements. That's a leading distributor of china and fine crystal.

(Soundbite of dishes breaking)

MONTAGNE: Down, boy. If your boss is into it, today you can both work like dogs.

It's MORNING EDITION.
