Singer and songwriter Tim Easton comes from Ohio, but has traveled extensively since leaving his college-era bands in 1998 to pursue a solo career. Now living in Joshua Tree, Calif., Easton returns for his second appearance on Mountain Stage, to perform songs from his hard-driving fifth CD, Porcupine.

Easton's vibrant guitar tone and punchy harmonica permeates "The Young Girls," and his voice resembles a Midwestern Rod Stewart on "Broke My Heart." Drummer Sam Brown and bass player Alex Livingstone join Easton in a set that demonstrates his gifts for illustrative lyrics and tune-craft.
