Danforth - Waco
Listen
NPR's Barbara Bradley reports on today's announcement that former Senator John Danforth will investigate the 1993 fire at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. Danforth and Attorney General Janet Reno say Danforth will look at whether federal agents caused any deaths, and whether there was a subsequent covered-up. Reno says she wants the investigation to have full independence, and Danforth will report not to her, but to Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, who had no involvement in Waco.
