Tripp Suit

Linda Tripp filed suit against current and former Clinton administration figures today. The lawsuit alleges that they disclosed information from her confidential Defense Department employment records and other government files. Tripp says they wanted to smear her in retaliation for her revealing the president's relationship with Monica Lewinsky. The suit accuses Hillary Rodham Clinton and ten senior Clinton aides of telling the news media about Tripp's teenage arrest on a theft charge, which she says was dropped. Tripp is seeking an unspecified amount of money in damages. NPR's Peter Overby reports.
