G|nter Grass Wins Nobel

(Update) G|nter Grass of Germany is the winner of the 1999 Nobel Prize in literature. The Swedish Academy cited Grass' first novel The Tin Drum, published in 1959. It was made into a movie that won the best foreign film Oscar in 1979.
