The U.S. Senate is about to take up the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, and there are real cheers — not Bronx cheers — all over the borough where she was born. Her confirmation hearings begin next week, and in the Bronx, they will be followed almost as closely as the New York Yankees.

Host Scott Simon heads into the Bronx to visit the block where Sotomayor grew up.
