Victorian Internet

Noah speaks with Tom Standage, author of "The Victorian Internet" about the history of the telegraph, and how it parallels that of the internet. Standage says the telegraph, and vacuum tube systems provided instant delivery of messages in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. "The Victorian Internet" is published by Berkley Books, October 1999.
