Defense Appropriations Bill

NPR's Mara Liasson reports that President Clinton has signed the $268 billion Defense Appropriations Bill for the current fiscal year and vetoed a spending bill for the Commerce, Justice, and State Departments. The Republican Congress probably had enough votes to override a veto of the defense bill, if the President hadn't signed it.
