Foreign Aid Budget

Host Bob Edwards talks about the foreign aid budget with Republican Congressman Sonny Callahan of Alabama, who chairs the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Foreign Operations. Congressman Callahan is among those Republicans in the House who favor across-the-board cuts in federal spending, including foreign aid. President Clinton vetoed the bill containing appropriations for the State Department, partly because it did not provide the money to carry out the Wye River Accords.
