Justice Department Releases Palestinian

NPR's Margot Adler reports from Newark, New Jersey, where a Palestinian immigrant named Hany Kiareldeen was released from custody, after being held in jail for almost 19 months, on secret allegations that he associated with terrorists and had been involved in a plot to murder Attorney General Janet Reno. Judges at the Board of Immigration Appeals found the evidence against Kiareldeen unreliable. Last week, a federal judge ruled that the use of secret evidence to detain Kiareldeen was unconstitutional.
