The Collapse of Communism

NPR's Julie McCarthy reports that, 10 years after the violent collapse of Romania's Communist regime, Romanians are still trying to find out exactly what happened in late 1989 and early 1990. Romania's Communist Dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu, ordered the secret police and the army to attack protesters, and many people died in the bloodshed. McCarthy's report concludes a week-long series on the 10th anniversary of the Fall of Communism in East-Central Europe.
