Wrongful Death Lawsuit

From member station WXXI, Brenda Tremblay reports that opening arguments began yesterday in a wrongful death suit. The lawsuit was filed by the family of Cynthia Wiggins, the 17-year old who was killed trying to cross a seven-lane highway to get to her job at the Walden Galleria Mall, in Cheektowaga. Miss Wiggins rode the No. 6 bus, which runs through that area, but according to Bus authority officials, mall executives will not allow buses from Buffalo's predominantly black east side on its property.
