Geographic Century

NPR's Alex Chadwick presents his final installment in the Geographic Century. For the past year, National Geographic and NPR have been taking a look at some of the century's great moments of exploration. As the year comes to an end, Chadwick travels from the mountains of the South Pole to the rainforests of Africa. Along the way, he remembers some of earth's significant places and the people who dared explore them.
