In the world of network television, the name Leonard Goldenson ranks with William Paley of CBS and David Sarnoff of NBC. Goldenson was the man who built ABC from a struggling number four network in the 1950's to the top network of the 1970's. We remember Leonard Goldenson, who died today at 94 yeas of age. When Goldenson bought ABC, its biggest hit was the Lone Ranger. Under his watch, ABC had hit shows such as The Rifleman, ABC's Wide World of Sports, and Marcus Welby MD. By the mid 70's, the hit shows Happy Days, Three's Company and Charlie's Angels helped the take the network to the top.
