Possible Ressam Accomplice Arrested

NPR's Steve Inskeep reports on the arrest of an alleged accomplice of Ahmed Ressam, the man accused of attempting to transport bomb-making materials into the U.S. Abdel Ghani was arrested yesterday in Brooklyn, New York. As the federal investigation of Ressam continues, prosecutors continue to find connections between Ressam, other suspects and what they call an Algerian terrorist network. Last week, Lucia Garofalo, a Canadian woman, was arrested and accused of trying to sneak an Algerian with false papers into Vermont. Federal authorities insist they have no knowledge specific threats planned against the U.S. on the eve of a new year and beyond.
