Missile Defense System Test Fails

NPR's Steve Inskeep reports that last night a major test of the U.S. missile defense system ended in failure. The system is descended from the so-called "Star Wars" program and is intended to defend against a limited missile attack. The Pentagon has scheduled another test for this spring and then must decide whether to continue the multi-billion-dollar project.
