Federal Lawsuit Filed Over Cuban Boy

NPR's Eric Westervelt reports that a federal lawsuit has been filed in Miami in an effort to keep six-year old Elian Gonzalez in the United States. Relatives of Elian who are in the U.S. say they're convinced that his father is being coerced into saying that he wants his son back in Cuba. A child welfare expert says the longer the case drags on the more Elian's psychological well-being is compromised, whether he is in the United States or sent back to Cuba.
