Howie Movshovitz of Colorado Public Radio profiles Chinese filmmaker, Chen Kaige, who is best known for his movie, Farewell My Concubine. Chen Kaige's new movie, The Emperor and the Assassin, tells the story of an ancient king who wants to unify all of China. Chen Kaige denies the story is about contemporary China and says it shouldn't be taken seriously. Film critic Peter Brunette is skeptical about both of those assertions.
