In Bronx, An Alternative Fix For Failing Schools

The current thinking among school reformers is that the best prescription for failing schools is to shut them down and start over. But there aren't enough resources to completely restructure all the schools at risk of being closed. So some school systems are hiring consultants who work with existing staff to turn around low-performing schools.
