Mortadella

In 1967, after an outbreak of swine fever in Italy, Italian pork products were banned in the United States. Now, the US Department of Agriculture is finally lifting certain restrictions on pork, including mortadella, the traditional pork sausage of Bologna. Linda speaks with Sal Auriemma (OR-ee-EH-ma), the owner of Claudio's Cheese Shop in Philadelphia, who plans to begin importing mortadella again as soon as possible. He says American-made bologna pales in comparison with real Italian mortadella.
