Foster Care in the U.S.

In part one of a two part series on foster care, NPR's Madeleine Brand reports on the dismal condition of foster care in the United States. Nearly one hundred thousand foster children in the United States are living in group homes. Most of these facilities are designed to keep children for a few days or weeks...but many are lingering there for months or even years.
