Coyotes Threaten Wolf Survival

Brian Mann reports that scientists have been trying to re-introduce red wolves to their old habitats for decades. But a model for this effort is being threatened, and not by humans. Coyotes have moved into the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina and are interbreeding with wolves. The resulting hybrid canines could lead to the extinction of pure red wolves in the Southeast within fifteen years.
