NPR's Sarah Chayes reports from the Hague on the trial of Bosnian Serb General Radislav Krstic. He's accused of overseeing the 1995 massacre of Bosnian Muslim men at Srebrenica, a town the United Nations had declared a safe haven. The court heard from a witness who described heartbreaking scenes of Muslim men being separated from women and children. The defense argued that General Krstic was actually assigned elsewhere when Srebrenica was overrun, and thus did not have command responsibility.
