Operation Ceasefire

NPR's Eric Westervelt reports on Philadelphia's crackdown on criminals who possess illegal guns. City police are cooperating with federal prosecutors in a program called "Operation Ceasefire." It requires mandatory prison sentences for convicted felons who are caught with guns in their possession. The program is modeled after a similar one in Richmond, Virginia, known as "Project Exile."
