Online Stock Fraud

NPR's Jack Speer reports the ability to buy and sell stock online has helped cut broker commissions and leveled the playing field for individual investors, but it has also created new opportunities for online stock fraud. Now the Securities and Exchange Commission, the civil agency whose job it is to monitor investment fraud, is stepping up its efforts to uncover securities committed over the internet.
