The Big Dig

Monica Brady of member station WBUR in Boston reports that the federal government has decided to step in and directly oversee the biggest public works project in recent history. Known as "The Big Dig," the project already is running well above the original 10.8 billion-dollar price tag. Yesterday, the Governor of Massachusetts fired the state official responsible for the project, which is digging a massive hole to put three miles of highway underground.
