IMF/World Bank Meetings

NPR's John Ydstie reports on the closing day of meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. While no new proposals and strategies came out of the last day, there was discussion on several strategies the World Bank is now pursuing to encourage development and alleviate poverty. Much time was spent on discussing the AIDS epidemic in developing countries. The World Bank has pledged one billion dollars to fighting the epidemic.
