Clinton Addresses Prescription Drugs

No sooner had Republican leaders signaled their interest in drug prices than President Clinton called a news conference to reclaim the issue. At the White House today, Clinton presented a study by an advocacy group saying the prices of drugs that older Americans use most are rising faster than inflation. Clinton wants to expand current spending to provide prescription drug benefits for all Medicare recipients, while Republicans prefer an insurance-based solution. NPR White House Correspondent Mara Liasson reports.
