Russia and the Fall of Communism

In the fourth of five reports on current conditions in Russia, NPR's Anne Garrels revisits the city of Chelianbinsk, a thousand miles east of Moscow, on the edge of Siberia. She talks to residents about how their lives have changed since the collapse of Communism. Just surviving in the provincial city is a struggle, but these Russians are resilient and applying a great deal of resourcefulness.
