NPR's Rick Karr reports that the Federal Trade Commission has announced a settlement with five of the largest record companies to stop the labels from punishing retailers for selling compact discs at discount prices. The FTC believes the practice was anti-competitive. The agreement is likely to save consumers more than 200 million dollars a year by lowering the price of CD's.
