NPR's Julie McCarthy reports from London that avery pregnant Cherie Blair, wife of the British prime minister, went to the High Court today to challenge government rules on parental leave. Ms.Blair, who practices law under her maiden name Cherie Booth, disputed agovernment policy that excludes millions of parents from taking unpaid leave from their jobs to care for their children. Ms. Booth Blair, who's expecting her fourth child, has elevated the parental leave issue, publicly urging her husband to take time off from his Downing Street duties after the new baby arrives.
