Curing Two Ailments With One Drug

NPR's Wendy Schmelzer reports on two studies suggesting that a type of drug called Statins, commonly used to lower cholesterol, also help to prevent bone fractures due to osteoporosis in the elderly. The studies are published in today's issue of Journal of the American Medical Association. Similar research findings were published last week in the British medical journal The Lancet.
